By Cornflower Bleuet (thatflyingfurry.art) ----------------- READ THIS FIRST: There are two files - zanmap_1.0.wad, and zanhud_1.0.wad. Everything you need, from the levels to the HUD, are in "zanmap". Use "zanhud" to play any *other* Doom map as Zan :3 Please only play with *one at a time* for the intended experience. ### Instructions for zanmap_1.0.wad ### (TL;DR for Doomers: this is a Doom 2 PWAD, designed for limit removing source ports. Enjoy!) For licensing reasons, I cannot provide you with a fully working executable. Don't worry, everything you need is free! You need 2 things: - A "limit-removing" Doom source port - For a smooth and modern experience, try UZDoom: https://zdoom.org/downloads - For a faithful and crunchy look, try Crispy Doom: https://github.com/fabiangreffrath/crispy-doom/releases (This map was originally made and tested with Crispy Doom.) - A Doom II-compatible internal WAD file - If you already own Doom II, you can use DOOM2.WAD from your copy of the game. - If you don't own Doom II, you can use the Freedoom Part 2 IWAD, which is 100% compatible: https://freedoom.github.io/download.html Instructions for UZDoom : Place either DOOM2.WAD or freedoom2.wad in UZDoom's root folder Drag & drop our "zanmap_1.0.wad" file on UZDoom.exe If asked, start the game using "Doom 2" or "Freedoom Part 2", whichever is applicable If it worked, you'll see the Zan title screen. You're free to start a New Game! Instructions for CrispyDoom : Place either DOOM2.WAD or freedoom2.wad in the root folder Drag & drop our "zanmap_1.0.wad" file on crispy-doom.exe If it worked, you'll see the Zan title screen. You're free to start a New Game! ----------------- By Cornflower Bleuet (thatflyingfurry.art) Six Legends by Vincent Paquin. This map was made and tested with Crispy Doom and UZDoom, but it should work well in most Doom source ports. (It's not vanilla compatible, though.) It uses mostly vanilla features, so it should otherwise be widely compatible. Thanks to: Vincent "Setsuki" Paquin, for making Six Legends, and providing some character models for me to modify (All the models are his creation, apart from the Cyberfoam model, which is mine) Starstruckdragon, for generously providing a MIDI of her Zan theme song "Cloak & Dagger" for the map Prince Nekravol, for the Widdlefoam easter egg and for starting the Zan Gun in-joke And thank you to all of these people, and others, for being cool and encouraging! Thanks to Sparkette from the SRB2 community, whose pre-rendered sprite Blender template made the rendering possible. https://mb.srb2.org/addons/blender-template-for-rendering-srb2-sprites.147/) This project came about from that in-joke, but I put WAYY too much time into it. Oops!! I'm kinda proud of what I did though I'm too old to be pouring my heart into silly fan projects. Maybe? It was fun though, and I think I learned a lot about Doom from making it It's like Sonic Doom 2, except with more dragons Enjoy! Do not distribute without credit, and do not change the attributions! The original assets from this mod are copyright Cornflower Bleuet and Vincent "Setsuki" Paquin. As long as you give both Cornflower Bleuet and Six Legends attributions, feel free to use these assets in any SL or Doom project! I do not have permission to use or provide Starstruckdragon's music or Nekravol's Widdlefoam beyond the scope of this project, however.
